Notes Des 101 Noirs débarqués, 19 sont saisis sur la plantation Vidal. On ne trouve pas trace des autres. Le ministère public interjette appel pour obtenir la condamnation de Baisse. Il est renvoyé sous réserve de la présentatinn des 82 Noirs manquants. Or, la justice finit par obtenir l'état de situation de ces Noirs vendus sur diverses plantations : le procés est renvoyé en cassation. Les 19 Noirs de chez Vidal sont déclarés paves, et confisqués au profit du roi. A cette occasion, 45 habitants et négociants de Cayenne adressent une pétition au roi : par erreur, la Cour de Cassation la reçoit. Le procés est renvoyé à Bordeaux. Baisse est condamné et figure à la liste officielle de 1826.
