Notes Le capteur avait d'abord conduit sa prise à Fernando Po, où elle était restée douze jours "sans nécessité apparente". Puis elle avait été conduite à Sierra Leone, voyage qui fait des morts parmi la cargaison. Du moins, les Noirs étaient libérés. Mais le vrai problème était dans la contradiction entre couleurs hollandaises arborées par le navire , et papiers officiels français. Les avocats de la Couronne ne savaient comment résoudre la difficulté. Ils en débattent encore en 1830, pour conclure enfin que la sentence condamnant le navire et la cargaison comme propriété hollandaise et la libération des esclaves étaient parfaitement correctes.
