Notes Duffy provides "statistics of serviçaes engaged for the islands of São Tomé and Principe" between 1876 and 1900. The period for 1876 and 1884 is aggregated into one total, which has been inputted as an average here. He also provided estimates for Angola, Moçambique and Cabo Verde from 1910-1915. After citing Duffy, Robert N. Nartey's dissertation has evaluated the missing years from 1900-1909. He identified how migrations from Moçambique began in 1908. En 1903, le recrutement de la main-d’oeuvre capverdienne vers São Tomé est initié.
