Notes Deux versions quant à ce navire. La premère indique une saisie française sur la côte de Bourbon par la goélette royale L'Amaranthe. Le soir même de la capture, le négrier est reconquis par son équipage. Il aurait quitté Maurice sous pavillon anglais, vers Madagascar, aurait rencontré un navire portugais chargé d'or et d'esclaves dont il se serait emparé corps et biens. Lemoine s'enfonce alors dans la piraterie, assassine un colonel pris à bord du portugais, puis le capitaine, enfin saborde sa prise, équipage enfermé dans la cale.La seconde version dit que La Fara disparaût en mer, coulée par La Constance, voir plus haut 1819/11, laquelle aurait pris en mer la cargaison de Noirs, livrée à Maurice. Les autorités mauritiennes connaissent de l'affaire, jugée sur place. Les Français n'en savent quelque chose qu'en octobre 1821. On ignore les suites.
