Notes The Daphne captured at least thirteen dhows amounting to over 650 liberated Africans in 1868. There are a set of three photographs focusing on children removed from this group of dhows. They are sitting on the deck and in the holds of the Daphne. Having left Zanzibar, they were recaptured in the Indian Ocean and taken to the Seychelles where they were indentured.
