Notes Trois navires s'y retrouvèrent en 1851. Les bonnes paroles reçues firent tout d'abord espérer aux capitaines un fructueux résultat, mais ils ne purent finalement engager qu'une dizaine d'individus (49). Plus décevant encore se révéla le bilan de l'année suivante: quatre navires durent repartir à vide (50). Il fallut aller jusqu'à Mascate pour trouver quelques recrues (51).
