Notes Segun las investigaciones realizadas hasta el momento, mds de 1700 esclavos fueron introducidos al pais en calidad de libertos. El articulo 2“ del decreto de Dorrego extiende ampliamente el periodo de servicio: “El tiempo que deberdn servir dichos libertos para rescatar enteramente sus personas sera en los que tengan de diez anos abajo, hasta cinnplir veinte; en los de diez a quince, diez anos; en los de quince a veinticinco, ocho; en los de veiticinco a treinta y cinco, seis; y de alii en adelante solamente cuatro.” The "esclavos rescatados" classifed under conditions of either "carga" or "tripulación." All are included here even though it is unclear if these people were born in Africa or not.
