Notes The capture by the Governor of Lamoo of a slave dhow with 217 slaves on board. A British ship-of-war, the name of which has not been ascertained, arrived at that port and demanded the immediate surrender of the vessel and slaves, although told they had already been seized. The Governor Lamoo demurred on the ground that he was acting under the orders of the Sultan, but on a repetition of the demand gave up the dhow and 50 slaves under protest. The vessel was brunt and the slaves were taken away in the man-of-war.
